UP SAMBHAL CONFLICT: Violence broke out on Sunday during the survey of Shahi Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Four people were killed and more than 30 people were injured in this incident. Firing also took place, but officials say that the police did not fire.
Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh experienced violent clashes on Sunday. There was significant unrest during a survey at the Shahi Jama Masjid. Rioters set vehicles on fire and threw stones at the police. As a result of the violence, four people lost their lives, and more than 30 others, including an SDM, were injured. The police have cordoned off the area around the mosque. Access for outsiders has been banned until December 1, and police presence is heavy throughout the region.
Firing took place during the riot, but officials say that the police did not fire. Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said that there were three groups of rioters who were continuously firing. Amidst the firing and stone pelting, the police evacuated the survey team safely.
Questions are being raised on Anjaneya Kumar Singh’s remarks. Locals say that the police also fired bullets. However, officials say that the police had to fire tear gas shells and lathicharge to control the crowd.
SP Said Police Did Not Fire Bullets.
SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said that such videos are spreading rapidly in many places, in which it is being said that the police has fired, but this is not true. To control the crowd, the police did not use any weapon that could result in anyone’s death. The SP said that an FIR has been registered in Sambhal police station and the culprits will not be spared.
Some policemen have also been injured in the firing by the miscreants. Violence has increased in Deepa Sarai area and the firing incident there is being investigated. The Divisional Commissioner informed that SDM Ramesh Chandra, Circle Officer Anuj Kumar and SP’s PRO have also been injured.

A 32-year-old man named Naeem Khan has died in the violence. His family says that the police opened fire in the presence of the CEO, killing Naeem. He was not involved in the protest; he was just going to buy refined oil from the shop.
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has criticized the Yogi government over the Sambhal violence. He said that this alleged violence related to the mosque survey has been conspired by the BJP and the government, so that attention can be diverted from the irregularities in the by-elections to be held in the state.

Moradabad Divisional Commissioner said that the survey of the mosque started at seven in the morning and it lasted for about two hours. The Muslim side had also agreed to conduct the survey. The survey was conducted under the supervision of both the parties and it was completed peacefully. However, during this time a crowd gathered outside the mosque and started shouting slogans. After this, the crowd started throwing stones at the police. According to the commissioner, some people were engaged in instigating the crowd, whose aim was to spread unrest in the area.
DGP Prashant Kumar said that the situation in Sambhal is under control and all the officers of the local police administration are present there. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. Vishnu Jain, lawyer of the Hindu side, said that on the orders of the Chandausi court, the Advocate Commissioner has completed the survey and its report will be presented in the court by November 29.

The Hindu side says that where the Jama Masjid is located today, there was a Harihar temple earlier. On this point, the Hindu side filed a petition in the local court. The court ordered a survey of the mosque. The Hindu side believes that the Harihar temple was destroyed by Emperor Babar in 1529.
